Dreary Tuesday

Hi my OFF family:

We're having thunderstorms today. Pounding rain, wind, thunder, lightning. Juliette's hiding somewhere. I got up at 7:30 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep. Had an awful day yesterday and still am in a lot of pain. 

If you're on FB, you probably read about my trip to the ortho urgent care. If not, well, here it goes. I hurt my thumb last week Monday when I was trying to catch the peanut butter jar. The lid was loose and I didn't want it to fall to the floor and make a mess. Well, I must have hyperextended the thumb. I started icing it right away and although it hurt, it wasn't horrible. I saw improvement daily until Saturday ... when it suddenly got really bad again. And I'm not sure why. 

Then Monday it got even worse. I picked something up in the kitchen and screamed in pain. My brother asked me what happened; I told him it was my thumb again. I decided to go over to my orthopedic group's urgent care. I left about 1 p.m. I took all my stuff for work, just in case. I figured I'd go out for lunch after urgent care. Well, I got out of there about 3:15 and then I had to stop off at the drugstore to pick up my prescription. And I hadn't eaten other than a protein bar for breakfast so I stopped and picked up lunch. Got in to work after 4. 

The diagnosis: I have a bad sprain, although it may be a trigger thumb. Hand doc gave me a script for steroids and told me to come back in three weeks, and if it's not better, he'll inject it. I also have a neoprene brace. It's a little uncomfortable, but not horrible. Hard to type with, though, so if there's some typos in here that I haven't caught, I'm sorry. 

Anyway, at work last night, I was doing the Henderson paper and that was going OK. But after I got my pages done, the sports guy needed help and he had one whole page that wasn't even laid out. And it was 10:45 p.m., with deadline at 11:15 p.m. So I grabbed the page, started laying it  out, and everyone else read stories. We missed deadline, but only by 15 minutes, which considering when we started the page wasn't bad. I had so much caffeine in my system at that point I couldn't sleep and didn't sleep well at all last night. Between my pain levels and too much caffeine, it wasn't a comfortable night's sleep at all. I did what I had to do. 

But today is my weekend. No big plans. I have a chiro appointment today, which I really need. I also have to get out to the bank and to Lenscrafters to pick up my sunglasses. And of course there's laundry. Just a typical weekend.

Hello Eileen and everyone.....

Eileen .....I hope your thumb feels better soon. Have you tried to put Voltaren Creme on it. I have to use mine daily for thumb pain. I not sure it would help yours but it might take the edge off.

Vickie...I hope you are well on your way to your home by now. Traveling with a baby is a whole other road!

I am taking some time for me. I didn't sleep hardly at all last night. I had to get up at 6:30 AM to get showered and ready for my tax appointment at 8:30. Then at 1:00 I had Fran pick me up for grocery shopping. I couldn't even concentrate on groceries. I bought about 8 items and just gave up.

No news from all Nic's testing except the blood and urine test came back clear. 3-5 days before the scans and all the other results come in. I get like this every year. I just feel sick the whole time. 

You know I love you all. I will read your posts as I can. I just can't answer right now. I am sorry. I will keep you updated.

Prayers for our sweet OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those in need.

If I am not here tomorrow know I am okay. This is just hard for me to do right now. I just can't get my heart into it. I love you all very much!!!

Im watching Vinnie today! I told Liz to take her car today cause I wasn't going to deal with the snow and cold! My niece is bringing her two little ones here for a play date!

Good Afternoon Eileen and OFF,

Sorry I missed checking in yesterday.  I wasn't home most of the day.  First, I went out to Flint, then Owosso, came home and then back out again for the evening.  Last night was my meeting for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.  

We are getting another 7-11 inches of snow.  Please pray that the community college closes for the evening.  It's not supposed to stop till close to midnight, and the worst of the storm is supposed to be when they are on the road.

I had to run a few errands this morning, and stopped at Colleen's to pay the rent, and play with the kids, coz it's a snow day.  Well, when I went out to the car, I couldn't find my scraper to clear the windows.  Argh!

While I was out, I did something to my ankle.  It's near one of the spots where the doc operated.  So, since I had to stop at RiteAid, I picked up an Ace bandage, and wrapped my foot and ankle.

I have stuff to do o my puter, and some crocheting to do.

Trish.....  You don't need anymore foot injuries.  be careful.  hope the snow goes away.

Dang my mind is blank.  I missed someone.  So sorry, I read your post and there were only 4 little ones total.  I thought I could remember without taking notes.  Guess not.

I went to NRG Stadium this morning to buy rodeo tickets.  Got tickets for the next two Saturdays but couldn't get ones for the third Saturday.  Sold out already.  That's all I have done.  Time to get on the laundry.

Trish...don't you know how to sit still and relax at all??????? You and your feet, ankles etc NEED to relax for gosh sakes!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was abnormal.  Today, I was just walking from my car into the post office when I felt something weird in a place I never hurt before, but near where one of the incision sites.

I'm behaving today.

Afternoon...well it is NOT a good one that's for sure!!!!!!! had appointment for 3pm for a new tenant to come sign lease...no show...no call!!!! It was raining here so I asked Rick to go over on other side to see if they MIGHT be over there waiting for me...OK...nope not there!!! OK...made a phone call to them. He answered...I asked where they were at. OH...we were going to call you THIS WEEK and tell you we found a house to rent with a garage. THIS WEEK?????? Yes. You have an appointment to sign your lease today at 3pm!!!! Well we changed our mind. Well thanks for letting me know. CLICK. Now mind you I had MANY calls for this 2 bedroom apartment!!!!! I was soooooooooooo mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have rented that apartment several times over!!!!!!!!!!! Right now the only good thing about it is the couple that has to wait for the other 2 bedroom can now move in earlier if they want this one instead!!!!

Showed another 1 bedroom today and this woman was a complete *****!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! She said its none of anybody's business what she has in bills etc to move in here...mind you this is government assisted to help pay her rent...as we were looking at the apartment I remember showing apartments to her awhile back....OH YES SHE IS A "*****"!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not want her here either side!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the complaining today...nobody else to sound off with...just Rick and he just tunes me out!!!! Sighs.....Speaking of Rick...he was taking down a ceiling fan today and fell off the ladder along with the ceiling fan. He is ok but the ceiling fan broke. Glad he is ok!!!!!!

OK supper is ready...peppercorn pork tenderloin...yummmmmm!!!!!!!
